Congratulations to our Cardinals January students of the month, senior Maddie Jaeger & eighth grader Alina Sadykova! The theme of the month was Integrity. Both are consistently doing what is right, even when no one is watching.

5th-8th grade solo and ensemble festival featuring band and vocal students from all around the area.

Congratulations to the Washburn Speech Team for another outstanding performance at the Beulah Invitational Speech meet today. There were 24 schools attending today's meet! Today's placers are: Sidney Montgomery - tied for 4th in Serious Prose, Matthew Olson - tied for 6th in Serious Prose, and 5th in Impromptu, Alexis Duke - 8th in Serious Prose, Isabel Samuelson - Top Novice in Serious Prose, Christine Yunker - 7th in Poetry, Gabe Rohrich - 7th in Storytelling, Natalie Ronderos - Top Novice in Impromptu and Top Novice in Speech to Inform, Liza Telkamper - 8th in Speech to Persuade, Matthew Olsen & Sidney Montgomery - tied for 6th in Humorous Duo, and Ethan Swanson & Isabel Samuelson - Top Novice in Humorous Duo. It's a great day to be a Cardinal!

Today was the Presidents and First Ladies Presentations for the third graders. They did an amazing job with their speeches! Congratulations to Mrs. Feist and Mr. Harvey for an excellent program! See Facebook for more photos.
Thank you to the McLean County Farm Bureau and Law Enforcement for providing safety lessons with the SIDNE Car and fatal vision googles today! The freshmen drove the SIDNE car to learn the risks of impaired or distracted driving. Students learned a lot while having some fun!

It's Back!... The Dollars for Scholars Phone-a-thon is being held again March 3! Help our students continue their education through donations to this scholarship program. Juniors and Seniors will be calling (and texting) to earn their hours needed for the scholarship. See Mrs. Leingang if you haven't already signed up to help with this event.
