There will be Sanford Power on Monday, June 30th, and Tuesday, July 1. We will resume sessions on Tuesday, July 8th and Wednesday, July 9th. All days will be in the weight room. There will be no Power on July 2nd, 3rd, 7th, or 10th. Have a safe and happy Independence Day!

Unofficial school board election results are in. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote. Thank you to all of the candidates for running and giving of your time. Thank you to Directors Kulzer and Schatz-Jennings for your service to our board for five and nine years respectively. Official results will be certified of this election at the regular school board meeting on June 23, 2025, at 7:00 PM.

It was a GREAT day to celebrate a Cardinal at the Capitol today. Mrs. Antenniell Neumiller received her Teacher of the Year award from Superintendent Baesler today! "Antenniell is a teacher who looks at each child in her classroom as an individual who is special in her or her own way. She cares deeply for each child and works hard to meet each child where they are to get them where they need to be. Former students frequently travel through the hallways and greet Mrs. Neumiller in a way that clearly shows she made a difference in their lives--a testament to the lasting impact of her dedication. Beyond academics, encouraging serves as a mentor and role model, encouraging new teachers to develop confidence, resilience, and a love for teaching." "

Reminder....of our former post ... School Board Election is tomorrow. Voting is at the school. 9 AM - 7 PM Three Seats up are up... Rural: Rick Tweeten * (running again) and Jada Schoemaker. Director Jeff Kulzer who has held a seat for five years has not elected to run again and we thank him for his service. City: Kelly Schatz-Jennings has held a seat for nine years and has chosen not to run again. We thank her for her service. Josh Goetz, Kit Baumann, and Brooklyn Schaan have placed their names on the ballot.

Results: Talent: Jada Vetter (Gold and State Runner Up); Small Animal Care CDE: (Bronze Team) Kalyn Braasch (silver), Emily Beehler (silver), Berandt Olafson (bronze) and Noah Jaeger; Dairy Cattle CDE: (Bronze Team) Lily Goetz (Gold), Elizabeth Tibke (bronze), and Paxton Feist. Floral: Chloe Erber (silver), Delyla Holznagel and Kylee Fiedler. Food Science CDE: DJ Winter (Bronze); Meats Judging CDE: Isaac Beehler; Nursery: Chloe Erber (silver) and Dan Neumiller (Bronze); Ag Mechanics: Vivian Weber (Bronze) and Berandt Olafson (silver).

Congratulations to the following Grade 7-12 students who made the honor roll for the 2nd semester! To qualify for the A Honor Roll, a student earned a GPA higher than a 93.5%. Students who made the B Honor Roll earned a GPA higher than an 86.5% . All students on both honor rolls received a letter grade of a C or higher in each class as well. We’re proud of our students for their hard work and dedication to excellence!

WASHBURN PUBLIC SCHOOL has now partnered with Sanford Sports Performance to provide the finest, professionally implemented training program to optimize athletic performance, reduce risk of injury and increase team success. The 2025 summer Washburn Strength program is now available for registrations. To get the most out of the training we expect our Washburn athletes to make every effort to be at a vast majority of training session and committed to improve. It takes work and dedication to improve. Washburn will have a trainer that will be using the Sanford online application to direct the athletes on Monday -Thursday each week. There will be 3 sessions each day. 7:00-8:00 High School Boys & Girls 8:00-9:00 Junior High Boys & Girls Sanford Power will be $100 for each participant. Checks should be written to Washburn Public School and turned into Coach Lexi Solomonson.
