What an awesome day at the Class B State Speech Tournament held in Mandan. The Washburn-Wilton speech team took home 3rd place, only trailing Dickinson Trinity-New England (by 2.5 points) and class B champions Valley City! Also, we now have two state individual event champions!
Natalie Ronderos - 2nd in Extemp Speaking and 1st and STATE CHAMPION in Impromptu Speaking.
Sidney Montgomery - 7th in Serious Prose and 1st and STATE CHAMPION in Dramatic Interpretation.
Amelia Swanson & Ethan Swanson - 6th in Serious Duo
Ethan Swanson - 6th in Speech to Inform
Christine Yunker - tie for 3rd in Speech to Entertain
Hannah Klabunde - 6th in Serious Prose
Willow Holter - Superior Medalist (received a 1st place rank in a prelim round) in Dramatic Interpretation.
With all the excitement, we failed to take a team picture, so enjoy the picture of the 3rd place state trophy and the team eating afterwards with a few supportive fans! Thank you to everyone that has made this year such a success!!

Prom 2026 was a wonderful success! Students from both our school and neighboring communities came together for an evening filled with celebration, laughs, and unforgettable memories.
All students carried themselves with remarkable class, respect, and maturity. The energy, kindness, and positive behavior displayed by everyone truly made the night shine and set a standard we can all be proud of.

Congratulations to the Elementary Cardinal Award winners for the third quarter of school!

The Washburn FFA chapter attended the state FFA CDEs in Minot on Monday, March 23rd. The chapter had a good day with the following results:
The livestock team received a silver award: Lily Goetz (silver), Emily Beehler (silver), Elizabeth Tibke (silver) and Jarissa Hoff.
The ag. Sales team received a bronze award: Vivian Weber (bronze), Jada Vetter (gold), Isabel Samuelson (bronze), DJ Winter (bronze), and Ellie Goetz .
The agronomy team received a bronze award: Donnie Vetter (silver), Dan Neumiller (bronze), Elizabeth Neumiller (silver), Chloe Erber (bronze), and Autumn Braasch.
