A message for incoming 5th grade band students/families: McLean County beginning band camp is just around the corner! (Aug 4,5,&6) If you have have not set up your instrument rentals with Eckroth Music please do so soon Contact Mr Moe if you have any questions.

No Open Gym at 6:30-8:00. Open Gym is finished for the summer. New Gym will have air handler work this week. New and Olde Gym floors will be refinished starting next week through the first week of August.

Band room open practice tomorrow, Tuesday, July 21st from 10am - 1 pm! Get extra help on audition music, look for solos, or just work on your own. Come in for ten minutes or an hour School instruments that were brought to Eckroth for summer repairs are now back at the school.

It’s that time of year again! 2026 SMC GIRLS GOLF is in full swing! To meet the coach, fill out some information and ask any questions, please come to Painted Woods Golf Course at 7 PM August 2. Come early and have some dinner with your family! Please text me, Coach Stacy Herzog if your child is interested in being on the team. 701-426-5063. First practice will be 6p August 3rd. Even if you’re not sure about the team, please come and get some information to see if it would be a good fit for your child. We had an amazing season last year and look forward to this season as well.

We hope you are enjoying your summer! Registration for school isn't that far away! Crazy, isn't it? The school is transitioning to Infinite Campus per the state mandate. Once we have all things set up, we will be sending out an opportunity to do online registration and fees. If you'd prefer in-person registration, plan to join us August 3 from 9 AM to 6 PM. If you have a youngster ready for preschool, and he/she is the age of 4 prior to July 31, 2026, preschool registration is also August 3 from 5 PM to 7 PM.

District 1 Legion Baseball Tournament will take place at the Washburn Baseball Field from Friday, July 17 - Tuesday, July 21. All fans are encouraged to come out and support Washburn Post 12 Team!

Registration for Southern McLean Roughriders Football Camps is due tomorrow. Here is information regarding the 2026 Southern McLean Football Camps this summer. High School Camp for those entering grades 9-12 will be held Tuesday July 28 & Wednesday July 29 from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Youth Camp for those entering grades 5-8 will be held Thursday July 30 from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM. Complete the link to register your child for camp. The link is to be used for both camps. On Friday, July 3, a member of our school family lost their house to a fire. The school is organizing some benefit measures to include an auction. In the interim, there has been a benefit account established if you would like to make a monetary donation.

2026 Fall Schedules

As much as we may not want to think about it, the new school year will be here before we know it!

If you have not yet submitted your transportation information, please do so. With all the changes currently taking place, it is especially important that we receive this information as soon as possible. Many of our bus routes are already near capacity, and we may need to make adjustments for next year. To help us plan proactively, all rural students must be registered for transportation and assigned to a bus route.
