Center 7th Grade Volleyball Tournament

STEM Candy Bucket Challenge Students were challenged to build the largest Halloween bucket that would hold the most candy but cost the least amount. Some of their designs were able to hold over 600 pieces of candy!

Join us for our elementary Halloween parade on Oct. 31st at 2:00 in the new gym!

Elementary parents - October temperatures have arrived. Please watch the feels like temperature at 8:00am, and be sure students have correct cold weather gear for recess. Students may wear shorts this week but must have pants for recess if the temperature is colder than 40 degrees.

Reminder - Pink Night is Thursday! Please have all silent auction donations to the school by noon on Thursday. Looking forward to an amazing event. If you have any questions, contact Suzy Jacobson at 462-3221.

The weather is starting to turn cooler- be prepared with a Washburn Cardinal or a Roughriders beanie. They are small enough to fit a student and stretchy enough to fit an adult. Available now from FCCLA! Cost is $20. Contact Suzy Jacobson @ 462-3221 with any questions.

Thank You to the Washburn Lions Club for the generous donation to the Washburn Athletic Department. The donation will help pay for new uniforms for elementary and junior high sports teams.

Tournament Play has begun in the Washburn Wilton Volleyball tournament. Washburn was 3-0 in pool play and is now playing in the Gold Division.

The cross country team had their final tune-up meet before Regionals on Tuesday in Underwood. Even at less than full strength, both the boys and girls finished in 2nd in the team scoring! Congratulations to Dan for capturing his first individual title and to all the top-10 finishers! The Roughriders will next compete at the West Region Championships next Saturday, the 11th, in Beulah. The Washburn FFA chapter attended the state FFA leadership conference in Bismarck on Sept. 27th and 28th. They were able to attend workshops on leadership and on Saturday evening they helped put together food items for people in need as a service project.

Introducing our newest team member, Lynnette Shannon, who brings 21 years of experience to the elementary office as our new administrative assistant. It's a great day to be a Cardinal!

Washburn Band/Choir off to a record breaking start to the year! 41 Northwest Festival Band and Choir auditions completed today! Results out October 13th. Students selected for this festival will perform Saturday, November 8th at Minot State University.
